なぜ？
グラデーション背景に数ピクセル周期の黒いマスキングを施した壁紙です。スクリーンの解像限界付近のパターンが視差効果によって動くことで発生する、モアレという現象を利用しています。
この壁紙のパターンは大小の四角形からなり、大きさが変化する格子状の縞模様を作ります。
また、視差効果はただ壁紙が移動するだけではなく、傾きに応じて遠近感がつくようにわずかに変形します（iOS 13では変形しません）。それがさらにモアレの大きさや方向を変化させ、光を反射する水面を演出します。
Oilは黒地に3色の四角が散りばめられたパターンです。明るさとともに色のバランスも変わり、よく見ると微妙に色が変わります。通知センターやウィジェットではそれが増幅されてすごいことになります。
パターンが拡大縮小されると効果が薄れるのでXS Max専用サイズです。
視差効果は何かの拍子に固まることがあります。アプリを開いて閉じるか一度ロックして解除すると直ります。

These are wallpapers with black masking of several pixel cycles on the gradation. It utilizes the phenomenon called moiré, which occurs when the pattern near the resolution limit of the screen moves due to Parallax Effect.
The pattern of this series are large and small squares. It makes vertical and horizontal stripes whose size change.
Also, Parallax Effect is not just a wallpaper moving. It slightly deforms the image so that it draws perspective, according to the tilt (Does not deform on iOS 13). It further changes the size and direction of moiré and directs the surface of water reflecting light.
Oil has a pattern in which squares of three colors are interspersed on a black background. The balance of color changes with brightness, and the color changes slightly as you look closely. In Notification Center and Widget it will be amplified and it will be amazing.
The effect will be weakened if the pattern is enlarged or reduced. It is exclusive size for XS Max.
